New Company Onboarding

LiftOff guides new company owners through profile setup, billing, and a short product tour before the workspace is fully ready.

What this is for​

When you create or join a new company as the first owner, LiftOff walks you through the essentials so your team can start planning events with consistent defaults.

Who can use this​

New company owners complete onboarding. Admins and members invited later skip the owner billing gate but may still see profile onboarding on first sign-in.

What happens during onboarding​

Profile completion​

First-time users may be asked for:

  • First and last name
  • Display picture
  • In-app label (how your name appears in the workspace)

Company onboarding route​

Owners may see a dedicated onboarding flow that covers:

  • Confirming company details
  • Reviewing billing or trial status
  • An optional guided tour of Home, Projects, and Settings

Billing must be active or trialing before some owner actions proceed. See Billing.

Guided tour​

The in-app tour highlights key areas such as creating a project, team invitations, and settings. You can skip or resume the tour from the checklist.

What happens next​

  1. Work through the Setup Checklist on Home or Settings.
  2. Invite teammates from Inviting Users.
  3. Add catalog items in Inventory Overview.
  4. Create your first project in Creating a Project.

Notes​

  • Onboarding progress is tied to your user and company records.
