Matching and Catalog Gaps
Compare project requirements against your company catalog and resolve items that still need a decision.
What this is for
During planning, LiftOff shows which requirements match catalog items and which still need action — rent, buy, build, substitute, or dismiss.
Who can use this
Anyone who can edit the project can review inventory matching. Catalog management requires standard workspace access (not project-guest-only access).
How to review inventory on a project
- Open the project.
- Go to the Inventory section to see matched catalog items and requirements that still need a decision.
- For each item needing review, choose the next action: add to inventory, rent, buy, make, substitute, or dismiss.
- Revisit Tasks after decisions; some choices may create pack or prep tasks.
What happens next
- Add new catalog items from Managing Catalog Items when you decide to stock something permanently.
- See a screenshot walkthrough in Inventory Matching and Catalog Gaps.
Notes
- Matching depends on catalog quality. Practical names and categories improve results.
- Catalog gaps are project-specific; the company catalog is shared.
