Using Files with AI
Project files can power LiftOff AI features: project drafts, summaries, task suggestions, note drafts, renders, and report sections.
When to use this page
Turn inspiration boards, PDF briefs, and site photos into structured project data and draft content faster.
Who can do this
Members, admins, and owners with AI access can use files as AI input. Project guests cannot use AI features.
Which features use files
| Feature | Typical file types |
|---|---|
| Project draft from images | Photos, screenshots, PDFs |
| Project summaries | Mockups, inspiration photos |
| Suggested tasks | Project context including uploaded files |
| AI-generated notes | Documents and images on the project |
| AI renders | Sketches, venue photos, PDFs |
| Reports | Selected files in PDF output |
Tips for better AI results
- Use clear, well-lit photos.
- Crop to the relevant area when possible.
- Upload readable PDFs rather than blurry scans.
- Keep filenames meaningful for your own workflow (LiftOff uses file content, not just names).
Next steps
- Review all AI output before client delivery.
- See AI Best Practices for team standards.
Good to know
- AI reads visible content; it cannot access files outside LiftOff.
- Very large or low-quality files may fail or produce weak drafts.
- Sensitive files should only be uploaded according to your company policy.
