Email to Project
Email to Project lets you forward client or vendor emails into a LiftOff project. LiftOff saves the email as a project note and stores attachments as project files.
When to use this page
Use Email to Project when important information is stuck in email, such as vendor confirmations, client approvals, venue notes, or attachment-heavy message threads.
Who can do this
Project members can use the project email address when the feature is enabled. Owners and admins may control whether the address is active.
Find the project email address
- Open the project.
- Go to the Overview section.
- Find the Email to Project or project email card.
- Copy the project email address.
- Forward the email to that address.
What happens after you forward an email
LiftOff can:
- Create a note on the project from the email content
- Save attachments to the project files
- Show the imported email in project activity
- Keep the message with the project so the team can find it later
Good forwarding habits
- Forward only emails that belong with the project.
- Remove unrelated private content before forwarding.
- Use clear subject lines when possible.
- Check the project after forwarding to confirm the note and attachments arrived.
Managing the project email address
Depending on your role, you may be able to:
- Enable or disable the project email address
- Copy the address
- Create a new address if the old one should stop being used
Good to know
- Anyone with the project email address may be able to send information into the project, so share it carefully.
- Attachments are saved as project files and may need labels updated after import.
- Email to Project is best for project records, not casual conversations.
